Both Assertion and Reason are true, and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion.

When a boat is moving upstream, it has to overcome the force of the stream flowing in the opposite direction, which reduces the speed of the boat. On the other hand, while moving downstream, the stream helps the boat, which increases its speed. As a result, the time taken by the boat to cover the same distance upstream is more than the time taken to cover the same distance downstream. This is because the speed of the boat relative to the water is less in the upstream direction than in the downstream direction.
