Latitude at a point on surface of earth -

 

It is the Angle which the line joining that points to the centre of earth makes with equatorial plane.

For poles

\lambda =90^{\circ}

For Equator

\lambda =0^{\circ}

 

 g'=g-\omega ^{2}R\cos ^2{\lambda }

At \lambda = 90^{\circ},\cos ^2{\lambda }= 0

g'=g
