\mathrm{CO}_{2} gas is bubbled through water during a soft drink manufacturing process at 298 \mathrm{~K}$. If $\mathrm{CO}_{2}  exerts a partial pressure of 0.835 bar then x \mathrm{~m} \mathrm{mol}$ of $\mathrm{CO}_{2} would dissolve in 0.9 \mathrm{~L} of water. The value of x is__________. (Nearest integer) (Henry's law constant for \mathrm{CO}_{2} at 298 K is 1.67 \times 10^3 bar )

As we have learnt,

\mathrm{P= K_{H}\chi}

\mathrm{\Rightarrow \chi = \frac{P}{K_{H}}= \frac{0\cdot 835}{1\cdot 67\times 10^{3}}= 5\times 10^{-4}}

Thus, mole fraction of dissolved \mathrm{CO_{2}= 5\times 10^{-4}}

\mathrm{Now,\ moles \, of\ H_{2}O \: in\, 900 \: ml= \frac{900}{18} = 50}

\mathrm{\therefore \frac{moles\, of\, CO_{2}}{moles\, of\, water}= 5\times 10^{-4}}

\mathrm{\Rightarrow \frac{moles\, of\, CO_{2}}{50}= 5\times 10^{-4}}
\mathrm{\Rightarrow moles\, of\, CO_{2}= 25\times 10^{-3}= 25\ mmol}

Hence, the answer is 25
