One root of the equation x2 + px + 12 = 0 is 4 and \alpha be the another root

\alpha \cdot 4=12\Rightarrow \alpha =3  and \alpha+4=p\;\;\;\Rightarrow p=7

the equation x2 + px + q = 0 has equal roots,

\sqrt{p^2-4q}=0 \\\\ p^2=4q \;\; \Rightarrow q=\frac{49}{4}
