\mathrm{ W_{A D}=n R \Delta T=3 R\left(T_A-T_D\right)=3 \times 8.31(2400-800)=39884 } ,W_BC =3R(T_B-T_C) = 3\times 8.31(400-1200)= -19944

 

\mathrm{ \therefore \quad \text { Total work done } W_{A D}+W_{B C}=39888-19944=20 \times 10^3 \mathrm{~J}=19944 }

\mathrm{ \approx 20 \times 10^3 \mathrm{~J} }
