\mathrm{C}=\frac{\mathrm{R}}{\mathrm{Y}-1}+\frac{\mathrm{R}}{\mathrm{X}-1}

and \mathrm{\mathrm{C}} is negative to \mathrm{1<\mathrm{X}<\mathrm{Y}}

for a diatomic gas \mathrm{Y=1.4}

\mathrm{\therefore \quad (c)}
