Resistance of the millivoltmeter, R = 50 \Omega, max voltage = 0.05V

Connecting a shunt S is parallel with the millivoltmeter and using these combination is between the points A and B, we get an ammeter to measure a maximum current I.

Now, I_S.S=I_VR

        S=\frac{I_V}{I_S}R= \frac{I_V}{I-I_V}R

             =\frac{V/R}{I-V/R}R

           =\frac{0.05}{1-\frac{0.05}{50}}

           =0.05 \Omega
