dB = 10\log_{10} (\frac{I}{I_{0}})    where I_{0} = 10^{-12}W/m^{2}

Since

        40 = 10 \log_{10} (\frac{I_{1}}{I_{0{}'}}) \implies \frac{I_{1}}{I_{0}} = 10^{4}

        20 = 10 \log_{10} (\frac{I_{2}}{I_{0}}) \implies \frac{I_{2}}{I_{0}} = 10^{2}

\therefore \frac{I_{2}}{I_{1}} = 10^{-2} = \frac{r_{1}^2}{r_{2}^2}

        {r_{2}^2} = 100 {r_{1}^2}

        {r_{2}} = 10 {r_{1}} \implies {r_{2}} = 10m
