Applying conservation of angular momentum about any point on surface

mv_{0}r+\frac{2}{5}mr^{2}.\frac{v_{0}}{2r}=mvr+\frac{2}{5}mr^{2}.\frac{v}{r}

\Rightarrow \frac{6mv_{0}r}{5}=\frac{7}{5}mvr\Rightarrow v=\frac{6}{7}v_{0}
