  • During fertilisation, diploid zygote is formed by entering the head of the sperm nucleus(DNA) into the egg

  •  Second Maturation division of ovum is arrested at the metaphase stage of meiosis ll. It is in this stage of the oocyte that the ovum is shed during ovulation. It passes into the oviduct, where the cell cycle resumes only after the entry of sperm.

  • Option b is the correct answer.
