Deuteromycetes (imperfect fungi) -

  • Mycelium is branched, filamentous and septate
  • They can be saprophytic, parasitic or decomposers.
  • Asexual reproduction occurs through conidiospore formation.  
  • Sexual reproduction is absent in them and that is why they are called imperfect fungi.
