The kinetic energy of the molecules of 1 mol of gas = \frac{3}{2}RT

Here, T= 27 0C  =  27+273 =  300K

Mass of 1mol of Nitrogen gas = 28g

So, the kinetic energy of the molecule is 2g of Nitrogen gas-

\begin{aligned} =\frac{2}{28} \times \frac{3}{2} R T & =\frac{3}{28} R T \\ & =\frac{3}{28} \times 8.3 \times 10^7 \times 300 \\ & =2.66 \times 10^9 \mathrm{erg} \\ & =2.66 \times 10^2 \mathrm{~J} \\ & =266.8 \mathrm{~J} \end{aligned}
