Minimum Deviation

The angle of minimum deviation occurs when \mathrm{i=e} and \mathrm{r_{1}=r_{2}} and is given by:

\mu=\frac{\sin \left(\frac{A+D_{m}}{2}\right)}{\sin \frac{A}{2}}
\mathrm{\Rightarrow D_{m}=2 \sin ^{-1}\left(\mu \sin \frac{A}{2}\right)-A}

\text{Substituing}\, \mu=1.5$ and $A=60^{\circ},
\mathrm{D_{m}=2 \sin ^{-1}(0.75)-60^{\circ}=37^{\circ}}
