$$ \begin{aligned} & R \alpha U_{\text {rms }} \\ & \frac{R_{1}}{R_{2}}=\frac{U_{\text {rms }}}{U_{\text {rms }}} \\ &=\sqrt{\frac{m_{2}}{m_{1}}} \\ & \frac{28.7}{7.2}=\sqrt{\frac{m_{2}}{m_{1}}} \\ & \frac{m_{2}}{m_{1}}=16 \\ & m_{2}=16 m_{1}=16 \times 2 \\ &\therefore m_{2}=32 \end{aligned}

hence, the correct answer is option (a).
