  • In Platyhelminthes, the epidermis is followed by circular and longitudinal muscles that are derived from the mesoderm. Below the muscles, mesenchymal cells and secretory cells are present. Mesenchymal cells contain collagen and secretory cells secrete mucus to support other tissues. Together, they constitute parenchyma.
