Use conservation of angular momentum

\mathrm{I_i \omega_i=I_f \omega_f \quad[\because L=I \omega] }

\mathrm{ \left(\frac{2}{5} M R^2\right)\left(\frac{2 \pi}{T}\right)=\frac{2}{5} M\left(\frac{R}{2}\right)^2\left(\frac{2 \pi}{T_f}\right) }

\mathrm{ T_{f}=\frac{T}{4} }

\mathrm{ T_{f}=\frac{24}{4} }\mathrm{ =6\: hours }

Hence option 4 is correct.
