  • Cross-pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of various blooms on the same plant or among various plants of the same species.

  • Both plants with single reproductive whorls in each bloom (known as unisexual flowers) and plants with both whorls present in a single flower can experience this. (bisexual flower).

  • Examples include grass and maples.
