  • They are spherical, oval, or polygonal in shape without any intercellular spaces.
  • Cells are thin with large nuclei.
  • These tissues are found in the apical part of plants such as the tip of the stem and root.

Permanent Tissue

  • They consist of mature cells.
  • The cells do not undergo any divisions.
  • Cell walls may be thin or thick.
  • Xylem and Phloem are permanent tissues.

Hence, Both assertion and reason are correct, but the reason is not the correct explanation of assertion which is option 2.
