Apical Meritems -

These are found at the tips of roots and shoots to produce primary permanent tissues. They are responsible for increase in length of plant orgens and primary growth. Ex. root & shoot apex

Apical meritens is devlop into eumeristan.

Eumeristen is divided into three regions -

1. protoderm or Demetogen - ex. epidermis, Root Hair, sten hair.

2. Procambium or plerome - ex xylem and phloem

3. Ground meritem or Periblem - hypodermis, cortex, endodemis, pericycle, pith etc.
