As we have learned,

 

  • Interaction of Radiation with Matter-

       When thermal radiations (Q) fall on a body, they are partly reflected, partly absorbed and partly transmitted as shown in the below figure.

           

   So we can write

       Q=Q_{a}+Q_{t}+Q_{r}

       or          \frac{Q}{Q}=\frac{Q_{a}}{Q}+\frac{Q_{t}}{Q}+\frac{Q_{r}}{r}

       or         1 = a + r + t

Where

   \frac{Q_{a}}{Q}=a=Absorptance

   \frac{Q_{r}}{Q}=r=Reflactance

    \frac{Q_{t}}{Q}=t=Transmittance

 Q_a = 0.20Q

Q_r = 0.35Q

Q_t = Q - Q_a - Q_r = 0.45Q

t = \frac{Q_t}{Q} = 0.45
