Large colorless with thin flexible walls, empty cells in the epidemis of some grasses like Poa, Aropyron, Maize etc., epidermal cells are known as Bulliform or motor cells. These cells help in rolling and unrolling of leaves.

In dicot leaves, vascular bundles are surrounded by large thick walled cells known as bundle sheath cells.

Loose parenchyma cells rupturing epidermis and forming a lens-shaped opening in bark are called lenticels, which are meant for gaseous exchange.
