The adrenal medulla secrete two hormones i.e., adrenaline or epinephrine and noradrenaline and norepinephrine. These hormones are also called catecholamines. Because they stimulate the breakdown of glycogen leading to an increase in the concentration of glucose in our blood. The gluconeogenesis, lipolysis and proteolysis stimulate glucocorticoid under the influence of catecholamines. Hence, the correct answer is option 3 which states that Statement 2 is incorrect and Statement 1 is correct.
