Second Polar body -

This induces the completion of the meiotic division of the secondary oocyte. The second meiotic division is also unequal and results in the formation of a second polar body and a haploid ovum (ootid) .

Extrusion of second polar body from egg nucleus occurs during the entry of sperm but before fertilization. It occurs as a consequence of oocycte activation which is triggered by fertilizing spermatozoa.
