 Mole fraction = \frac{moles of salute}{moles \:of \:salute + moles\:of\:solvent}

Let's assume, we have 1 mole of solute

Then, wt. of solvent = 1 kg

Moles of solvent = \frac{1000}{18}\:mol

Mole fraction of solute = \frac{1}{1+\frac{1000}{18}}

                                     = \frac{18}{1018}

                                     = 0.0177
