\mathrm{\text { molarity }=10^{-3} \mathrm{M}}

1000 \mathrm{ml} of solution contains 10^{-3} mole of \mathrm{CaCO}_3.

\mathrm{\therefore \text { hardness of water } =\text { ppm of } \mathrm{CacO}_3 }

\mathrm{ =\frac{10^{-3} \times 1000}{1000} \times 10^6 }

\mathrm{ =100 \mathrm{ppm} }
