The rms speed of oxygen molecule, v=\sqrt{\frac{2 R T}{M}}

Whenthe molecules dissociate into oxygen atoms, molar mass will chnage from M to \frac{M}{2} (When the temperature change from T\rightarrow 2T)

Then rms speed =\sqrt{\frac{3 R \cdot 2 T}{M / 2}}=2 \sqrt{\frac{3 R T}{M}}=2 V
