- Osteosclereids: These are bone shaped sclereids dilated at their ends. They occur in leaves and seeds of several monocots.
- Astrosclereids: These are star-shaped. They occur in leaf of Nymphaea, Trochodendron etc.
- Trichosclereids: These are hair-like and branched. They occur in hydrophytes.
