The reaction is: \mathrm{SO}_2+\mathrm{K}_2 \mathrm{Cr}_2 \mathrm{O}_7+3 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4 \rightarrow \mathrm{K}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4+\mathrm{Cr}_2\left(\mathrm{SO}_4\right)_3+3 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}

The oxidation state of Cr changes from +6 to +3 and there are two Cr atoms. Hence +6 is the net change.
