John Dalton was the first to discover the atom. He gave Dalton’s atomic theory. He said that atoms are the tinniest particle of matter, which cannot be divided further (which was further claimed to be wrong). He postulated that atoms of same element are identical in shape, size and other properties, whereas atoms of different elements have different properties.
