= 1200000\left ( 1+\frac{4}{100} \right )^{2}

= 1200000\left ( 1+0.04 \right )^{2}

= 1200000\left ( 1.04 \right )^{2}

= 1200000\times 1.0816

= 1297920

Thus, the  population after two years is 1297920.
