To find the ratio, we first make the quantities of the same unit.

We know, Rs. 1 = 100 paisa. \therefore Rs. 5 = 5x100 = 500 paisa

Therefore, the required ratio =

 \frac{50 paisa}{Rs. 5}= \frac{50 paisa}{5\times100 paisa} = \frac{1}{10}

= 1:10
