Q1. Find the union of each of the following pairs of sets :

(iii) A = {x : x is a natural number and multiple of 3}

      B = {x : x is a natural number less than 6}

Answers (1)

\\ A=\{x: x \text { is a natural number and multiple of } 3\}\\ =\{3,6,9 \ldots\}$\\ As $\mathrm{B}=\{x: x \text { is a natural number less than } 6\}=\{1,2,3,4,5,6\}$ \\ $A \cup B=\{1,2,4,5,3,6,9,12 \ldots\}$ $\therefore A \cup B=\{x: x=1,2,4,5 \text { or a multiple of } 3\}$
