Simplify and solve the following linear equation.

Q.8   15(y – 4) –2(y – 9) + 5(y + 6) = 0

Answers (1)

Let us open the brackets

Equation becomes:  15y - 60 - 2y + 18 + 5y + 30 = 0

or                               18y - 12 = 0

or                                   18y = 12

                             y = \frac{12}{18} = \frac{2}{3}
