find the remainder when p(x)= x^3-ax^2+6x-a is divided by (x-a) .

solution: By remainder theorem ,required remainder is equal to p(a)  , 

  Now,       p(x)=x^3-ax^2+6x-a

Rightarrow              p(a)=a^3-a	imes a^2 +6a-a=5a

Hence , required remainder = 5a
