Indian National Congress, Surat session was held in 1907 in Surat Gujrat. In this session the INA was divided into two groups-
1- Moderate Group
2- Extremist Group
Moderate were calm, non-violent, temperate and flexible. The main demands of moderates from British government were following-
1- Reducing the taxes levied on Indians.
2- Appointing Indians on the heigher post of the government apparatus.
3- Reducing the expenditure on the millatry.
4- Complete separation of the Executive and Judiciary.
5- Denamd for simultaneous Indian Civil Service examinations in England and India.
