\mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{CH}_{2} \mathrm{COO}^{-} \mathrm{Na}^{+} \xrightarrow[\mathrm{Heat}]{\mathrm{NaOH}+\mathrm{CaO}}\mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{CH}_{3}+\mathrm{Na}_{2} \mathrm{CO}_{3}

by heating, sodium salt of the carboxylic acid with soda lime (NaOH and CaO in the ratio of 3 : 1), Alkane is produced.
