First,  \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4 is electrolysed to \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{S}_2 \mathrm{O}_8 .

\begin{array}{ll} \text { At Cathode: } & 2 \mathrm{H}^{+}+2 \mathrm{e}^-\rightarrow \mathrm{H}_2 \\ \text { At anode: } & 2 \mathrm{HSO}_4 \rightarrow \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{~S}_2 \mathrm{O}_8+2 \mathrm{e}^- \end{array}

Then, \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{S}_2 \mathrm{O}_8 is hydrolysed to get \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4 and \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}_2.

\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{S}_2 \mathrm{O}_8+2 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}_2
