Nitrogen fixation is shown by prokaryotes and not eukaryotes. Comment?
Nitrogen fixation refers to the process of converting atmospheric nitrogen (N2) into a biologically usable form, such as ammonia (NH3), which can be readily utilized by living organisms for growth and development. Nitrogenase is the enzyme that is required for nitrogen fixation. This enzyme is only available in prokaryotes. Therefore, only prokaryotes and not eukaryotes show nitrogen fixation.
