Green plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and return oxygen to the atmosphere, even then carbon dioxide is considered to be responsible for greenhouse effect. Explain why?

Answers (1)

CO_{2} increases global warming. It is produced by the burning of fossil fuels; however, plants consume CO_{2} for photosynthesis and in turn, emit oxygen, hence reduce global warming.

CO_{2} is confined to troposphere only and forms about 0.03% by volume in the atmosphere.

But as we know, deforestation and burning of fossil fuels is increasing CO_{2} and, hence increasing global warming.
