Ozone is a toxic gas and is a strong oxidising agent even then its presence in the stratosphere is very important. Explain what would happen if ozone from this region is completely removed?

The stratosphere consists of Ozone gas which protects us from harmful UV radiations (\lambda = 225 mm) coming from the sun. UV radiations can be harmful to humans and cause melanoma, cataract formation in eyes, genetic mutation, and destruction of crops. It can also cause harm to aquatic plants and animals. The main reason for ozone depletion is the release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in the atmosphere.

Hence, we can say that although O3 is dangerous for us if it is present in the troposphere but in the stratosphere, it protects us from harmful radiations.
