  1. The initial population at time 0 hr, Pi = 50.

  2. The final population after time 1 hr, PF = 150.

  3. The growth rate of the population = PF−Pi÷Time

  4. (150−50)÷1 = 100 per hour.

If a population of 50 paramecia present in a pool increases to 150 after an hour then the growth rate of population is 100 per hour. The answer is the option (d).
