In the given figure, the lines l and m are parallel.

Line n is a transversal line.

So,  \angle x and 44o are co-interior angles.

We know that the sum of co-interior angles is 180o.

Hence \angle x + 44^{\circ} = 180^{\circ}

\angle x = 136^{\circ} is the correct answer
