Explanation:-
During the positive half-cycle of the AC input, the diode is forward-biased and conducts. The load receives current, and voltage is developed across it. During the negative half-cycle, the diode is reverse-biased and blocks current. No voltage is developed across the load.
The diode acts as a half-wave rectifier, it offers low resistance when forward-biased and high resistance when reverse-biased.
