Given:

                f(x)=a^{x}

Explanation:

It is given that,

                f(x)=a^{3}

         \Rightarrow f'(x)=a^{x}\cdot \log a

           \because f'(x)>0  as    f(x)  is increasing

         \Rightarrow a^{x}\cdot \log a>0

         \Rightarrow a>1                                         [\because \log 1=0] 

Thus, value of a has to be a >1
