Mango and coconut are drupe fruits. They develop from monocarpellary superior ovaries and are one-seeded. It is differentiated into outer thin epicarp, middle fleshy mesocarp and inner stony endocarp. The endosperm is the edible part of a coconut. The oily endosperm in the liquid form constitutes the milk of a tender coconut. After some time, this milk becomes flesh as it gets deposited along the walls of the endocarp.

Initially the endosperm is suspended within the coconut water. But on maturation the cellular layer is deposited along the wall. This layer of endocarp is edible.
The exocarp and mesocarp part is called the husk of the coconut. They are used for making ropes, clothes, etc.
Mesocarp is the middle part of the pericarp present between the endocarp and endocarp. It is the edible part of the mango and pulp , etc which contains amino acids and vitamins.
