The Sum of two rational numbers is always a rational number.

Example- 

Let consider the two rational number \frac{1}{3}., and \frac{2}{3}.

Sum of two rational number = \frac{1}{3}+ \frac{2}{3}
 

=\frac{1+2}{3} =1 (which is a rational number)
