(A) 6.9 cm

Solution

Theorem of inequalities says that the sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.

So,       AC + BC > AB

            BC > AB – AC

It is given that BC = 6 cm

            6 > AB – AC                                       …..(1)

Only one option does not satisfy equation 1, which is option (A) 6.9 cm

Therefore option (A) is correct.
