Answers (1)

Given Power: 1 kW = 1000 Watt

Power (P) = VI

Voltage = 220V

Current,  I = P/V

= 1000/220 = 4.5 A

The rating should be greater than 4.5 A in order for the kettle to work. So, 5A is the only option that satisfies the condition.

Therefore, option (d) is correct.
