Equation of line in intercept form= \frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{b}=1

   Given that a=b; \frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{b}=1

 \frac{x+y}{a}=1

  x+y=a……(1)

If equation (1) passes through (1,-2) we get 1+(-2) =a 

  1-2=a 

 a=-1 Putting the value of'a'in equation 1we get x+y=-1 

Equation of straight line is  x+y+1=0
