If the mean of the following data is 20.2, find the value of p:

The frequency distribution table can be prepared as follows-

Mean =\bar{x}=\frac{\sum f_{i}x_{i}}{\sum f_{i}}=\frac{610+20p}{30+p}=20.2

610+20p=606+20.2p

610-606=20.2p-20p

4=0.2 p

p=\frac{4}{0.2}=\frac{40}{2}=20

Hence, the value of p is 20
